Job Duties

Senior Application Engineers for Westmont, IL location. Help customers with GT-SUITE’s user interface that enables our customers to build, run, and analyze output produced by our physics engine. Build models and deliver the capabilities to efficiently re-use data, share subsystems of larger models with other groups, and deploy front-end interfaces (including web-based) for users with different levels of experience. Run models and be involved with model validation and real-time run-time monitoring, requiring extensive user experience design. Help create customized reports and utilize data analytics techniques ranging from data smoothing and trendline generation to using sophisticated machine learning techniques to answer engineering questions. Engage with customers to identify and prioritize UI / UX development opportunities to deliver best-in-class software. Define the long-term vision for the user experience of key components of GT-SUITE’s user interface. Generate new feature and enhancement designs proposals to satisfy design requirements. Review design proposals with internal and/or external stakeholders. Handle multiple development projects of varying size concurrently, considering resource constraints and release deadlines, to delivery timely feature updates to GT-SUITE. Participate in sprint planning, standups, etc. Representing his component(s) of the software. Work with customers after the delivery of features to support the user experience. Technical environment: Agile development methods and associated tools including Azure DevOps, JIRA; PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Software, including Teamcenter, Minerva, WindChill; Revision control systems – Git; Finite Element Analysis and CAD design using tools: ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Maxwell, ANSYS Discovery, ANSYS SpaceClaim, AutoDesk Fusion 360, and AutoDesk Inventor;  Python scripting;  Visual Studios.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field plus two years of experience in computer-aided engineering required. Required Skills: Education or experience with: Agile development methods and associated tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA; PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Software, such as Teamcenter, Minerva, or WindChill; Revision control systems such as Git; Finite Element Analysis and CAD design using tools such as ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Maxwell, ANSYS Discovery, ANSYS SpaceClaim, AutoDesk Fusion 360, and AutoDesk Inventor; Python scripting; Visual Studios or equivalent IDE. Some telecommuting permitted. Periodic minimal travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry conferences required. $87,547-105,000/yr.
